WHAT WILL IT TAKE TO BE SUCCESSFUL?
Perhaps you’ve heard the following advice:
“The key to becoming a lean, mean, fat burning machine is regular cardio workouts of a low to moderate intensity.”
But what do they mean by low to moderate intensity? Some fitness professionals refer you to a chart on the wall averaging all age groups and fitness levels. Others estimate intensity based on your perception of how hard you’re working. In either case, there is a wide range of target heart rates, differing by as much as 30 beats per minute! How can you really know if you are doing it right?
I highly encourage you to consider metabolic testing! We are able to assess your Resting Metabolic Rate and your Active Metabolic Rate. These assessments are very specific to each individual and are based on your very own physiology! This allows you to take all of the guess work out and set goals based on science and facts. The end result, is REACHING YOUR GOAL efficiently and effectively! Let’s take a look at each.
The Active Metabolic Assessment is a Vo2 test that measures the amount of oxygen your body uses at different exertion levels while you exercise on a bike, treadmill or other specified piece of cardio equipment. This is done as you breathe through a mask during a short workout. The recorded information is then used to calculate your personal TARGET INTENSITY ZONES. These zones will give you the specific target heart rates required for each level of intensity. Exercising within your Zones will get you results that will amaze you!
Target Intensity Zones – will maximize your workout with fewer injuries, less fatigue, less pain, and rapid results (because it is specific to you). It’s the right way to workout!
*And for you athletes! You work hard at staying fit. But what if all your time and effort aren’t getting you the maximum results?
Professional athletes and trainers know that Vo2 testing is the way to measure your cardio fitness and maximize our workout. But cost and complexity has limited its availability to only the most elite (and well paid!) athletes. NOW FITSPACE CAN GIVE YOU VO2 RESULTS IN A SIMPLE, AFFORDABLE ASSESSMENT!

The Resting Metabolic Assessment is a resting metabolic rate assessment. What is a person’s resting metabolic rate and why is it important? Resting metabolic rate is the number of calories one burns just to sustain your bodily functions, i.e. keep your organs functioning properly.
Based on an educated guess, it is estimated that men need between 1,800 & 2,000 calories a day and women need approximately 1,200 a day to sustain their metabolism.
Yet, so many people are looking for a new diet…you can find them everywhere! Bookstores, infomercials, and any women’s magazine at the grocery checkout. But with all the diet fads out there, over 90% of people who lose weight gain it all back.
THE REAL KEY TO WEIGHT LOSS IS KNOWING PRECISELY WHAT YOUR BODY NEEDS!
The only way to know just what your body needs is through metabolic testing. Metabolic testing shows you just what is going on inside your body. You can finally unlock the mystery of your own metabolism!
FITSPACE is able to assess your resting metabolic rate through a 24 minute test. Your scheduled appointment is one hour long. The first half is spent getting set up and administering the test. The second half is spent reviewing your results with our Registered Dietician.
The Resting Metabolic test is extremely valuable and will help you to understand your own body’s physiology! Allowing you to take the guess work out of how many calories you need to consume every day and allowing you to reach your goals!
